The third Qualifying Round in Project CARS 2 for the A1 Esports League stayed in touring cars, but with a serious change of pace to keep the competitors on their toes. This week's machine was the Group A DTM monster, the Mercedes-Benz 190E EVO2. This car is a very different beast from last week's A45 Touring Car, and a huge challenge for the drivers to master around the sweeping switchback corners at the Nurburgring GP circuit. The EVO2's handling leans towards oversteer, which makes smooth, balanced driving crucial to the drivers' success. It also makes it very tricky to manage the tyre temperatures, even in short races, and that made for some spectacular action.

If you missed Sunday's races, make sure you check out the full VOD above. The battles were close once again, with the added tension of the car's tendency to slide and catch out any drivers that had a small lapse of concentration. The races got better and better throughout the day, which led to a fantastic battle for the podium in the PC final between VP's Darwin Daume & Isaac, and TX3's Storm, behind Team Redline's Mangator who took the win. Make sure to seek that out in the video. On PS4 the final was dominated by Team Redline's Magic Michael. His smooth driving reaped the rewards in these tricky DTM machines.
