ESL Go4 Cup #4 Results

11/4/2015

The first month of ESL Project CARS action has come to a close and what a month it has been! The eSports racing on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has been fiercely competitive, with some of the fastest sim-racing teams in the world meeting their match against truly amazing speed from some previously unknown faces and teams.

Another €50 was available for each winner this week, plus a place in the Monthly Finals for the overall top 8 drivers on each platform! That put extra pressure on the early Go4 Cup leaders, but could they handle it and stay out in front of the chasing pack?

On PS4 this week, we had a new winner! DrDrDD from Germany took home first place, with an terrific performance, seeing off the dominant drivers from the previous PS4 competitions, like Alexx545 and DriverR1. Did the pressure finally start to get to the top guys in week 4? It’s hard to say, but you can’t take anything away from DrDrDD. It was a stunning drive, especially against Alexx545 in the final.

Our SMS-R Driver Network Championship teams found the competition very tough in the ESL Go4 Cup once again this week. Only STD-RS was competitive on PS4 this week, with STD-RS_SmOky_FR making it to the quarter finals, only to be knocked out by CoTiNhO who came in 4th overall at the finish.

While the pressure finally started to get to some of the top drivers on PS4 and PC, that wasn’t the case on Xbox One, where SDL Mihalo took yet another commanding victory. Alween 88 came home in second once again, and there was a hugely improved team performance from SMS-R regulars, Starlux. Slux J0k made it onto the podium for the French team, and several of their other drivers made it as far as the quarter finals too. It was a shame for Starlux that the draw put two of its drivers against each other at the quarter final stage though, where Slux J0k had the very difficult task of eliminating teammate, Slux PSY2PAC for a place in the semis. Another team from the Driver Network Championship, TX3, didn’t fare quite as well, with only one of its driver reaching the quarter finals. TX3 Vecko lost out to Alween 88 who went all the way to the final.

On PC we had a new winner as well! F1-Masa, a regular competitor in the Driver Network Championship, made the most of his experience and bested his rivals to win. Along the way, he defeated USSRxAleXeR in the semi finals, proving that he is human afterall! USSRxAleXeR has completely dominated the Go4 Cups on PC so far, but finally met his match this week in F1-Masa. He then met his match again in the 3rd place playoff, beaten by khaki, so not only was it the first time that USSRxAleXeR has failed to win a Go4 Cup on PC, it was also his first non-podium finish of the season.
