ESL Go4 Cup #8 Results

11/26/2015

The action continued in the ESL Project CARS Go4 Cups with our eighth Go4 event this last weekend where it was crunch time in the battle to make it into the Top 8 on each platform to claim a place in the Finals for November.

As always, the winner on each platform took home €50 this week, with €150 more up for grabs for the drivers that make it into November Finals! With the introduction of fixed car setups for all drivers too, the action was tighter than ever this week...

The PS4 racing was the closest of all this week, especially in the final between multiple race winners, DriverR1 and Alexx545. They spent the entire race battling wheel-to-wheel, right up until trading paint in the final few corners with Alexx545 eventually coming out on top. ockerocker came in third, with the top re-establishing some form and consolidating their positions in the overall PS4 standings for November.
Last week’s winner, TSRacing_Atho could only make it as far as the quarter-finals this week, knocked out by DrDrDD. It was a tough week all round for Team Shark Racing with Yinato beaten in only the second round as well. Normally this would be a big upset, but he did come up against Alexx545, who of course went all the way to the final in Cup 8. STD-RS had a very difficult time too with neither of its drivers making it beyond round 2. It seems that the Driver Network Championship teams have some work to do, to get on terms with the other drivers in the new fixed setup format.
  1. DriverR1 (Fra) - 335
  2. Alexx545 (Ger) - 235
  3. ockerocker (Ger) - 205
  4. DrDrDD (Ger) - 205

After a tricky few weeks, SDL Mihalo was back on top in Xbox Cup 8. Last week we questioned whether his dominance might finally be over, but he has proved the doubters wrong by climbing back up to the top step of the podium. Slux PSY2PAC was unable to take part this week as well, so this result puts Mihalo in a very strong position at the top of the November leaderboard with one Cup to go before the November Finals. Starlux did manage to get a podium, despite PSY2PAC’s absence, with Slux J0K taking third. A huge congratulations as well to Arness who took their first ever podium with a terrific driver to second place.
Team UNITY will be disappointed with Cup 8, having failed to make it onto the podium despite coming into the event in terrific form with multiple podiums and even a win in recent weeks. The draw for the bracket gave them a big challenge though with UNITY Barbarxxl forced to knockout teammate Nando in the quarter finals, and eventual runner up Arness beating D4NG3ROUS very early on. However, D4NG3ROUS did manage to beat TX3 Vecko before this, and that’s very important in the overall points table as it keeps UNITY in touch with the top 4 and prevents Vecko from taking advantage of Slux PSY2PAC’s absence this week.
  1. SDL Mihalo (Fin) - 305
  2. Slux PSY2PAC (Fra) - 190
  3. TX3 Vecko (Fra) - 170
  4. Slux J0K (Fra) - 165

After some crazy results on PC in Cup 7 thanks to some astonishing debut drives from newcomers, normal service was resumed with week. khaki and TonyR were back to their dominate ways in Cup 8, taking first and second place respectively. We’re looking to a titanic battle between these 2 in the November Finals! The final place on the podium did go to a new face though, Arness. A great performance and first top three finish for the French driver. The big story of PC Cup 8 revolved once again around USSRxALeXer, one of the series’ best drivers, who this week lost out very early, beaten by damianGT_APEX in the round of 16! The change to running fixed setups on all of the cars has definitely evened things up on PC with only one more Cup left before the places for the November Finals are decided!
  1. khaki (Pol) - 400
  2. TonyR (Ger) - 220
  3. USSRxALeXeR (Ukr) - 185
  4. Papand (Nor) - 130
The next ESL Project CARS tournament is Go4 Cup #9 on Sunday November 29 with more cash up for grabs! And don’t forget, you can now vote for the circuit you want to race at in the next event. Please visit the ESL Project CARS forums to make your choice!
