The second ESL Project CARS Monthly eSports Finals took place last week, with November’s fastest eight drivers from PS4, Xbox One and PC getting together to battle it out for a €450 total prize fund!
ESL hosted two races for each platform, with drivers allocated points based on their finishing positions. Whomever had the highest total points for their platform after both races would be crowned the monthly champion and win €100! With one winner each on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, plus €50 for each runner up, the drivers put everything on the line to win the cash!
The action began on PC with the top 8 drivers from November’s PC Go4 Cups.
Race 1 took the drivers to sunny Italy, and the famous Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola. This tricky circuit requires serious driver concentration, with some very fast corners and steep curbs, which can upset the balance of any car, even the stable GT3 cars used for these races. After 15 laps of intense wheel-to-wheel battles between the eight drivers. Polish driver khaki came away with the win, just as he did in the first race of the October Finals last month. USSRxALeXeR came in second with Papand third.
Race 2 took the drivers to the less sunny, but even more iconic circuit of Silverstone in the UK. The long GP layout was the venue for 15 more laps and a long race to test the drivers’ stamina straight after their tough battle at Imola. Consistency is the name of the game in all forms of motorsport, and it was khaki and USSRxALeXeR who brought that to the table in the November finals, with another one-two finish in the second race. TonyR joined them on the podium in race 2.
That means that Poland’s khaki is our ESL Project CARS PC champion for November 2015! Making it back-to-back monthly victories and taking home the €100. USSRxALeXeR takes €50 for second. December’s races have changed car class, from GT3 to Formula Gulf, so perhaps a new driver can stop khaki from scoring a hat-trick in the next Finals.
Over on PS4, the first console final for November was filled with great talent, with familiar faces from the SMS-R Driver Network Championsip like TSRacing_Atho, plus successful drivers from all of our ESL events and even a few new faces too. Here’s how they lined up for the PS4 Finals.
The PS4 action took place at the same tracks as the PC races, so it was off to Imola for race 1. DriverR1 has begun to dominate in the weekly PS4 Go4 Cups, so it was no surprise to see him assert himself early on with a sublime drive to take victory in the first race, making him the man to beat once again. TSRacing_Atho used all of his experience too, following DriverR1 home in second as the French drivers took a one-two. ockerocker came in third.
It was all or nothing for some of the drivers in race 2, to try and make up for their performances in race 1 and put some real pressure onto the leaders. The top three handled that pressure perfectly though, repeating their race 1 results with no mistakes. That means it's a debut ESL Finals victory for DriverR1, taking home the €100! TSRacing_Atho has improved from his October performance as well, moving up to second overall and taking home some prize money for the first time. He’ll be hungry for more in December though. With two podiums in two Finals, it’s time for Atho to go for the win next time out.
Last but not least, the Xbox One Finals saw some of the biggest eSports teams in Project CARS go head-to-head for this month’s cash prizes! SDL Motosport, Starlux, UNITY Motors and Virtual Drivers by TX3 were all well represented in November’s Xbox Finals, making for a very tight battle with a lot of team pride and bragging rights at stake! Here’s how the drivers lined up.
After dominating each round of the Go4 Cups, SDL Mihalo came into the Finals full of confidence and immediately put that on display with a good win in the first race at Imola. Behind him, an intense battle developed between the UNITY and Starlux drivers with UNITY Babarxxl using all of his league experience to come out on top and take second place with Slux PSY2PAC in third.
At Silverstone, SDL Mihalo pulled another terrific drive out of the bag, making it two wins in a row. Team UNITY took another second place too, this time with tRiStS16, and Slux PSY2PAC held on to third again, to claim double podium finishes in these Finals.
Those results mean that SDL Mihalo takes home the €100 for the second month in a row! Consistency paid off for Slux PSY2PAC as well, with his double podium keeping him ahead of the UNITY drivers to take home the runner-up prize of €50. Here’s the full Xbox results.
1. SDL Mihalo - 20
2. Slux PSY2PAC - 12
3. UNITY Babarxxl - 11
4. UNITY Nando - 10
5. UNITY TriStS16 - 8
6. TX3 Vecko - 4
7 hoodboss v2 - 0
8. Slux J0K - No show
