After a full month of hotly contested competition, European online qualifying for the 2019 Logitech G Challenge is now complete. The fastest drivers in the Project CARS community were joined by familiar faces from across the world of sim-racing as they competed in four events in the awesome McLaren 650S GT3. Qualifying was about pure speed and raw talent as the drivers battled against the clock and against each other at Red Bull Ring, Brands Hatch, Nurburgring, and Autodromo Algarve. There were two places in the regional final up for grabs, as well as prize bundles from Logitech. The first place in the finals goes to the fastest PC driver and that was THR Wolf, who took two victories in the four rounds. It was a remarkable performance, because the talent level in these open qualifying rounds was through the roof. Wolf finished ahead of the likes of reigning SMS-R champion VP Isaac21, as well as names like Miguel Ballester, hot lapping beast RSe guibZ, and thousands more.
The second spot in the finals was reserved for the fastest Console driver, and that went to Xbox One’s GSR PYPZ. He was the clear winner thanks to three victories across the four rounds. His battle with Team Redline’s Manurodry was incredibly close with gaps of less than 0.1 in all but one of the four weeks. We hope to see Manurodry at one of the Wildcard qualifying events later this summer, because he certainly looks capable of giving PYPZ a run for his money in the regional finals, if he can get there. Visit europe.logitechgchallenge.com for details of how you can get involved in this year’s competition, which of course features a place in McLaren Shadow as its big prize. Online Qualifying has now finished in Europe, however, the Logitech website will soon be updated with details of upcoming Wildcard qualifying opportunities at gaming events around the continent. There is still time to sign-up and qualify online in North America and Asia-Pacific. Click the links for more details.
