This Week In Project CARS: The ACR League Hits The Streets Of Long Beach

Bumps, walls and blind corners. Long Beach hosted this week's races in the ACR League as the drivers steadied themselves for one of the most dangerous circuits in Project CARS 2. Disaster is never more than a few inches away as the cars weave between the barriers on this treacherous track. The beginners in the GT5 class were the first to hit the road.
Bafrage was looking to add to his 10 point lead, and pick up his third win of the season, but he only qualified 5th. This track is known for throwing up some surprises, and Evolution--ex duly delivered by snatching pole, despite only securing one point all season long. Broseferr took 2nd in qualifying in his final race before promotion to the GT4 class, and championship hopeful Graham_068 was in 3rd. The lights went out and everyone was on the edge of their seats in anticipation of a pile up into turn one, but amazingly all 16 drivers got through cleanly. However, a mistake from championship leader Bafrage at the fountain section, would lead him to an early retirement. Evolution--ex took the chequered flag and the win, with DBKung in 2nd and Graham_068 came across the line in 3rd to cut Bafrage's championship lead to one point. Evolution--ex was the Driver of the Day. Read on to catch-up with the action from the other classes.
The GT4 class was next up, with Bubblebart looking to extend his already massive 28 point lead, and pick up his third successive win. He started as he meant to go on, and took pole position by almost half-a-second ahead the rest of the field. We did not expect Robinjus, a new driver from Germany to take P2 and Verzoate, another other new driver to take 3rd on the grid. Could they get a podium on their first outing? The lights went green, and Bubble got a great start as did Robinjus, who stayed with the leader for the first seven laps, Verzoate took his time after a bad start dropped him to 5th, but he climbed back up to 3rd. Bubble claimed another win, and the two new boys picked up 2nd and 3rd. Robinjus was the Driver of the Day.
The final race saw the GT3 drivers take centre stage, with last season's champion, DriverR1 back in the action to replace the absent Shaun4YTFC. There was also a debutant in Dennis_Meisner who replaced Mr_Mahoniii, as he has unfortunately broken his leg. SMS and ACR wish him a speedy recovery. Normal service resumed for DriverR1 as he took pole by four tenths. Hansfan qualified 2nd with KC Simracing's Blankfile in 3rd. Championship leader Curry_Wurst was only 6th. In foggy conditions the lights went green, and DriverR1 got a fantastic start. He built a one second lead in the first lap whilst Hansfan and Blankfile followed behind. It was a fairly routine race early on, but FRY-DIZ had other ideas. Fry was cruising in 3rd position after getting the better of Blankfile, but along the back straight he had a problem with his steering wheel. The scenes that followed were biblical. After the California dust had settled, five drivers had to pit for repairs, which gave some unlikely names like Dennis_Meisner a chance to fight for 5th. DriverR1 took the win despite a trip through the flowers at the roundabout, with Blank in second and Hansfan in third, which gave Hansfan a three point lead in the championship. The Driver of the Day was Dennis_Meisner for a debut 6th position.
