This week saw the ACR "Triple Threat" league return to Texas Motor Speedway. This oval/road course combination makes for unpredictable, high-speed racing on the banking, with slower and more technical turns in the in-field section. First up was the GT5 race.
Championship leader Bafrage took pole with Dbkung 2nd, and Uxthink 3rd, despite the latter racing with a wrist injury this week. The race was action packed from start to finish, with Bafrage and Dbkung locking out 1st and 2nd and Graham_068 getting an incredible 3rd having started back 6th. Bafrage was the Driver of the Day. The GT4 group didn't head over to Texas with the other car classes. Instead they were at Oulton Park international, and Bubblebart was the man to beat. With confidence oozing from the young Dutchman he took yet another pole position. Karting-70 and Xwolf1369 filled out the other spots in the top three, and the race results finished in that order too, but that doesn't tell the whole story. It was an close contest that showcased what ACR and Project CARS 2 are all about. Bubblebart was Driver of the Day after he claimed pole position, fastest lap and the race win for a brilliant hat-trick.
The GT3 cars were back across the pond in Texas, and the action was all about a big comeback from Curry_Wurst. Last season he was battling against potential relegation into the GT4 group, but in Texas he picked up pole position and the race win, to give him a chance to lead the championship going into Round 5. Azaziel picked up 2nd, with Weller in 3rd.
