Actrollvision's "Triple Threat" league returned this week, with some fantastic battles at Circuit of the Americas, and a dramatic race in a raging thunderstorm at Oulton Park.
First up was the GT5 league, the league for beginners, at COTA. This group once again proved their pace, as DBKung took pole position, replicating some of the form he had in Project CARS 1 that made him a fan favourite with Actrollvision's viewers. Bafrage qualified second, with Broseferr in third. The lights went out and DBkung led the field, but battle was joined by Broseferr, Bafrage and Phatmatt70. These four changed position more times than we could count. As the race progressed, Broseferr found himself at the front with a few laps to go, but a mistake brought the top four to within a second of one another on the final lap. Broseferr was 1st, PhatMatt 2nd and Bafrage 3rd. Driver of the Day was Broseferr, with his first win in this competition. Read on for the reports from the GT4 and GT3 races.
COTA also hosted this week's GT4 race. BubbleBart has proven to be a COTA specialist, and he delivered an outstanding lap to take pole, whilst his championship rival, Alex2121 had internet problems and could not take part in the race. Bubblebart went on to win by a massive 28 seconds. Behind him, Xwolf and Karting-70 put on a hell of a show. The latter pulled an unbelievable pass to gain 2nd place, but it wasn't enough. Mistakes handed 2nd to Bluesboy71 with Xwolf in 3rd. Driver of the Day was of course Bubblebart after his flawless display.
There was a change of track for the GT3 race as ACR headed back across the pond to Oulton Park, with the added challenge of a thunder storm for the drivers to contend with. Blankfile took pole, after mastering the very tricky conditions. Shaun4YTFC was 2nd for the Kerb Clippers team, and championship leader, Hansfan qualified 3rd. Blankfile got a great start as did Hansfan and they easily pulled clear of the field. The rest of the drivers found the conditions very tough, but TropperMatt found a rhythm and carved his way through the field to take a very well deserved podium. 1st was Blankfile, 2nd Hansfan and 3rd TropperMatt. Blankfile was the Driver of the Day.
