Project CARS eSports was back once again this weekend, with another ESL Go4 Cup. This time our drivers crossed the Atlantic to New York state in the USA and the beloved Watkins Glen circuit. The drivers are beginning to settle back into their rhythm now as 2016’s action gathers pace with many new names appearing alongside top Project CARS eSports teams like Team Shark Racing, SDL Motorsport and STD-RS.
Though the cars stay the same this week, with the Formula Gulf 1000, Watkins Glen offers up a very different challenge to last week’s races at Zolder. The Glen is an incredibly high speed and very bumpy circuit, with plenty of sections that challenge the downforce of these little open-wheel cars. The drivers all had to run right on the limit to maximise their car’s performance here. This opened the door for the established dominant drivers to be challenged by many new faces, throwing up some fascinating results.
As always, the drivers were competing for a €150 prize fund, and the chance to collect some all important championship points. At the end of the month, the top 8 drivers with the most points on each platform; PC, PS4 & XB1, will be invited to compete in the January ESL Finals for an additional €450 of prizes!
