The second half of our premier LGCS and NCS Series return this week after a short hiatus whereby the teams got a chance to update their lineups during the Summer Transfer Window.
Battle resumes on Friday as the Autumn Split begins with Round 6 of the Logitech G Championship Series. This open setup series travels to the scenic Empire State of New York for some hot and noisy stockcar action in the Ford Fusion at Waktins Glen.
Before the rubber meets the road, many teams have been busy adjusting their lineups during the break in order to maximise their points scoring opportunities in the fight for the €20,000 prize fund. Read on to find out about some of the big changes amongst the leading teams.
Just the one change for our Console leaders in both the NVIDIA Challenger and Logitech G Series. Team Shark Racing has promoted Zoky to the its NCS team, as it looks to give an opportunity to a new face and keep things fresh in the second half of the season.
SDL Motorsport has undergone several changes for the Autumn Split. Firstly, it's top console team "Logitech G Blue" has swapped from XB1 to PS4, as permitted by the regulations. In the NCS PC Division, Detomaso has been promoted to the main SDL lineup, and Speeddmon91 has transferred from FAF Motorsport. Most of SDL's squads have been subject to a balancing act too, with several drivers being promoted or demoted, so that the team can make the most of its large number of top drivers, to maximise its points scoring opportunities in the rounds ahead.
Team BAM has also undergone several changes, including poaching two top drivers from rival teams in both PC competitions. TomiKillos moves to the team after a very successful spell with Project CARS Polska. IJJauTaH also joins BAM after scoring points regularly for 5Aces during the Summer Split. These moves will definitely strengthen BAM, and so will its alliance with Thrustmaster, which is now the team's title sponsor. BAM will now be known as BAM.Thrustmaster in the Autumn Split.
The other major change during the Transfer Window is the renaming of Team TBA. This leading UK team is now managed by Darren Cox, the original creator of GT Academy and has been renamed eSPORTS+CARS. VP-jralphy and MuhRu1s also join the team for the Autumn Split.
Unity has a large number of teams competing across each of the Series, but had perhaps spread its best drivers too thinly amongst these lineups during the Summer Split. For the second half of the year, the team has shuffled its pack, rebalancing its squads to put more of its top drivers together in one team, increasing its chance for some bigger points finishes in the team standings in the rounds ahead.
