THE DATE

The culmination of the inaugural 2015 SMS-R Driver Network Championship season happened in sync with the Hanhook Dubai 24H over the weekend of the 15-18th January 2016 where the MARC Cars Australia team once again raced the Project CARS Ford Focus V8 around the elevated curves of the Dubai Autodrome in the SP2 class, finishing 5th in class.

Pro drivers throughout the year battled it out for points in each of the SMS-R Driver Network Championship rounds, and the heat at the top of both the Driver Standings and Team Power Rankings matched that of the intense midday sun in Dubai.

Having battled through live events across the world including Madrid, Cologne, Birmingham, and Paris, the finish line was in sight.

The driver with the most points took home The Driver Network Cup - the reward for tireless hours practicing, tuning, qualifying, and setting the fastest pace repeatedly throughout the year. With a unique design inspired by the intertwining forms of polished metal and mesh, The Driver Network Cup is a coveted and worthy prize for those that have proven their dominance in the world of Project CARS Esports...

Second place and third place finishers also received trophies, in addition to one individual that takes home the MVP Award which highlights a member of the community that has achieved the most or been an exemplary sportsman during the season.

But as we all know, motorsports are about more than just the individual, which is why the leading team in the Team Power Rankings also received silverware in the form of The SMS-R Trophy as a reward for cultivating the most consistently high-scoring group of players...
