The second month of ESL Project CARS Go4 Cups is now underway!
October was a tense affair, with each platform largely dominated by a single driver. That was until last week, when the competition stepped up their performance, giving us new winners on PS4 and PC. That trend has continued into November, as Cup #5 proved to be even more competitive, with the previously dominant drivers coming to terms with new rivals and new challenges ahead.
We had another new winner on PS4 this week! DriverR1 from France took their first victory, ahead of some of the best drivers we have seen so far. Alexx545 from Germany could only manage second, despite a dominant victory in the ESL Arena at Paris Games Week last Thursday. Perhaps we can forgive him for being a little tired after that intense battle with TS Racing and SDL Motorsport! Spain’s CoTiNhO finished third.

All three of the PS4 podium finishers from Cup #5 also made it into the October finals, so they’ve continued their good form into November as well. However, it was a struggle for the PS4 SMS-R Driver Network Championship teams in the Go4 Cup this week, with only STD-RS putting in a devent performance, but even they only made it as far as the Round of 16. Further proof that the driving standards in the Go4 Cups are incredibly high! | On Xbox, surprise surprise, SDL Mihalo was top of the pile yet again. hoodboss v2 was second, with UNITY tRiStS16 third. Since the start of the Go4 cups, Mihalo has won every single event on Xbox, but there are some signs that things might be about to change. There were several new eSports teams competing on Xbox this week, including no less than 7 drivers from UNITY, who managed to get UNITY tRiStS16 onto the podium in their debut weekend! SMS-R teams like Starlux and TX3 also fielded more drivers this week. Clearly, the competition is stepping up its efforts to knock Mihalo off his perch. Can he hang on again next week, or will someone finally end his winning streak? | Over on PC we were thrilled to have another new winner as khaki from Poland took the top spot from TonyR in second and USSRxALeXeR in third. In previous weeks, we would have described USSRxALeXeR coming third as an upset, but after only managed 4th in Cup 4, his performance this week was actually an improvement. No doubt, he will be desperate to get back to winning ways having won the first 3 cups, but struggled a little in a last two weeks. |
The next ESL Project CARS tournament is Go4 Cup #6 on Sunday November 8 with more cash up for grabs whilst the ESL Go4 October Finals will take place on Wednesday November 11.
