Project CARS eSports drivers were in action once again yesterday in ESL Go4 Cup #21. This time we headed to the Czech Republic and the Brno circuit. We would like to take a moment now to apologise for the connection problems some drivers experienced this weekend, which were due to some ongoing issues with the PlayStation Network. However, despite this there was still plenty of fantastic racing and some close battles on all platforms, with more sim-racing teams and drivers competing this week than ever before.
Brno was the venue voted for by the drivers this time out and it presents a similar sort of challenge to last week’s track, Donington Park. There’s plenty of elevation change to get to grips with and you can really attack the rumble strips and curbs in every corner. Using the curbs on both exit and entry to each corner allows the best drivers to maximise their angle of attack and carry more speed through this flowing circuit. However, it’s easy to unsettle the car over the crests and bumps that Brno has to offer, so you still need to keep the throttle balanced at the right moments.
Aston Martin, BMW, Ford and Ginetta were all represented once again as we stick to the GT4 class throughout February. This was the third Cup to use these cars.
As always, drivers were competing for a €150 prize fund - split into three €50 prizes, one for the winner on each platform. At the end of February, the top 8 drivers on each platform will be invited to race in the February Final for an additional prize fund of €450!

It was a very strong field in the PS4 Cup this week, with extra drivers fielded by TS Racing, Unity, RSP, XLRacing and SDL Motorsport. Keeping the strength of this opposition in mind, it was a great performance by Team Shark Racing's Racer to put the team back up towards the front of the pack in second place. However, DriverR1 remains the man to beat this month, taking his second victory of February ahead of Racer. It was great to have another newcomer on the podium too, with a best ever finish for Greek driver, ReachTheStar. A big achievement considering the huge number of sim-racing teams & drivers that entered the fray on PS4 this week. | Just as on PS4, a huge number of eSports teams were represented on Xbox One this week. RZ, TX3, SDL Motorsport, RC, Unity, BAM & CQR all entered multiple drivers into this week’s XB1 Cup. SDL M power took his second win for his new team after moving from Starlux, ahead of TX3's ChauDaR. It’s good to have Virtual Drivers by TX3 back up on a Project CARS podium. TX3 has been one of the top teams historically, but it’s had some tougher times of late, bouncing back with a good performance in this Cup. In third place, PSY2PAC snaffled another podium to continue a very consistent month for RZ. | SDL Motorsport and BAM eSports were the best represented teams in this week's PC Cup. BAM Anto took a fantastic win to continue the team’s rise back up the ranks in Project CARS eSports. BAM was the third placed team in the 2015 Driver Network Championship, but had since been quiet in the Project CARS scene, until it exploded into the ESL Cups with a strong podium. It’s building a strong lineup for the 2016 season and a first ESL win for the team is a great way to kick things off. DyndaS took second place on PC with a debut podium, while SDL Yoohan rounded out another strong week for SDL across all platforms, with third on PC. |
