For Round 7 of the Fixed Setup Project CARS eSports Series, the NVIDIA drivers had their first taste of good old-fashioned American stockcar racing, in the Ford Fusion. The venue: Road America. Wisconsin's cathedral of speed, and one of North America's most absurdly fast race tracks.
With ridiculous high speed, all-or-nothing corners like the Kink, Road America is a serious challenge in any vehicle. The stockcars have their own unique characteristics too, which only serve to raise the bar even higher. These are big, heavy race cars with a massive amount of power, but a relatively low level of downforce to keep them glued to the track. Primarily designed for oval racing, the Ford Fusion is a tricky customer for a fixed setup event like this one, because the drivers aren't able to perfectly adapt the car to the road course setting.
With that in mind, all of our drivers in this round did an amazing job to tame the Fusion, mastering this tricky combination to make the most of the circuit. Read on to find out which drivers came out ahead. "Shake 'n' bake!"

Console Division
It was Team Shark Racing that lead the way on Console at Road America, with Yinato finishing top of the pile thanks to a 2:00.817. He was just ahead of a double podium for SDL, with SoniK third and Rotax fourth. Atho followed for Team Shark in fourth, with Rossi46 and Mpower hot on his heels for SDL.
GTurbo, now a privateer driver, scored some good points in seventh, while eSPORTS+CARS will no doubt be pleased to see ralphy taking a top ten finish for them in eighth. JP02 and Silex95 rounded out the top ten for Team Shark.
The latest team standings see SDL close the gap to Team Shark at the top, thanks to more of its drivers finishing inside the top six positions this time out. eSPORTS+CARS overtakes Team Psynchro for fourth place and also closes in ever so slightly on the third place team, VP-Drivers. Team RSP scored its first NCS points to enter the team standings in 14th.
The following driver was eliminated from the results in the Console Division:
- TSRacing_Zoky (3 wheels off track: Inside of Turn 8)

PC Division
UPDATE: BAM Anto was mistakenly included in the PC results despite running wide at the exit of Turn 5 on his fastest lap, outside track limits. This has now been corrected and the results have been updated accordingly.
In the PC Division, the BAM.Thrustmaster team took its first victory under its new name with a 2:00.546 for Khaki, which also consolidated his position at the top of the driver standings. It was a double podium for BAM too, as TomiKillos took his first podium for the team in third place. These two were split by SDL Logitech's Mangator in second.
SDL also had Detomaso, Masa and Yoohan, all inside the top six, helping them to outscore BAM in the team points and take over the lead in the team standings. It's a very slender lead though, with SDL ahead by just 5 points.
There was another terrific performance by Cluck in Round 7. He's still flying the flag for Revolution Sim Racing against the big teams, taking a solid eighth place this time out. This was enough to push the team into third place, ahead of Project CARS Polska and best of the rest behind BAM and SDL.
jonathanmonfroy squeezed into the top ten to grab his best finish of the year, whilst Apex Online Racing commentator, Yorkie finished just shy of the top ten in eleventh.
The following drivers were eliminated from the results in the PC Division:
- BAM Anto (3 wheels off track: Exit of Turn 5)
- AndrewJohnson47 (3 wheels off track: Exit of Turn 1)
